For the past couple of days, my new hometown has been transformed. The bright reds, pale greens and sky blue were replaced by something else. I woke up to drip, drip sounds and a misty pale soup where my blue sky used to be. The red rocks had turned a deep brown and transformed their shapes. Our struggling pines and junipers suddenly looked lush and proud.
It's funny. I am an outdoor person, but I normally duck in and out of the rain like most people. Now, I don't own an umbrella. All I could do was get out there and enjoy the wetness. I woke up early on Monday morning to do Ki Gong in the park. I thought the rain might scare people away, but I went out anyway. It was really beautiful. Doing Ki Gong in the midst of those warm rain droplets, taking in the view of a transformed valley. It was invigorating! I don't think I have ever been so grateful for rain.
